One internship is available for the FALL 2017 term.

This position is unpaid.

NOTE: Enrollment in the LIB 106 Library Technology Internship course is required.  LIB 106 requires a minimum of 60 hours work experience and prerequisite courses: LIB 101 and LIB 104.

Completion of LIB 103 Access Services is recommended for this internship.

Internship hours must be scheduled during Library operational hours and completed during the PCC Fall term.

Examples of Tasks and Duties: 

  • Assist with general Circulation tasks, including:
  • Utilize the library’s computer system (ALMA) to check-out, check-in, sort and re-shelve circulating materials.
  • Answer general questions and answer the telephone.
  • Explain and uphold library policies and follow Circulation procedures.

Additional tasks and experiences:

  • Bindery preparation.
  • Serials and journals processing.
  • Interlibrary loan request processing.
  • Library security procedures overview.
  • Stacks management.
